From Dubrovnik to Rome

so left Dubrovnik a few days ago. It was beautiful, and definitely worth visiting if you are in the area. Not cheap though. But dont go if you have a mortal fear of any of the following: Scooters, cats, bumblebees or twingos (cheap versions of the Uno type car). Highely recommended is the Buza bars in the Old town, but dont go swimming unless the waters are placid- had to help an elderly lady get out by the stairs.. she would have definitely hurt herself  (lifesaving skills coming in handy). Nice staying a bit away from the old town.. in less touristy Lapad. Old town by night is absoutely stunning. Especially after a few sambucas which seem to be of a higher alcohol percentage in dubrovnik.
I am officially a gelato expert and have managed to eat at least one if not 2 servings a day. HEAVEN is a place where you can eat Gelato all day to your hearts content without getting obese.
Travelling alone is definitely going to be hard as its been lovely to share the great times with Rick.. he has kindly pointed out all the "loner" old ladies on all our excursions they definitely dont look as happy as people in groups..Tut tut. I am sure I will survive.
Left Dubrovnik by ferry to go to Italy. Spent a charming night in Bari, not touristy at all which was quite a treat and very quaint (travellers words for nice and CHEAP). Had a lovely meal and the only damper on our night was that the aircon in our hotel room was out... The room was about 35°C=stinking hot, we had to leave the door open which lead onto a dingy balcony. This allowed not only a whole flock of man eating mosquitos into our room, but also incredibly noisy.. nothing like being woken up at 5am to the noise of reversing garbage trucks.. Spent the best part of the morning, slapping mosquitos off me, hissing at Rick who was making equal amounts of noise, tossing in the heat and composing my "complaint rant" for when we checked out. My rehearsed rant got me a 10euro discount... not quite the response I had hoped for..
Got the train to Rome, and am now sampling the fine culinary delights of Rome.. with a bit of sight seeing thrown in for good measure. Actually a lot of sight seeing... our first day we walked 10 hrs. yes 10 HOURS. We suffered immensely after, and still are! We didnt even leave our hotel room this morning and spent the morning watching movies...
I have really shown true eating tenacity throughout my trip and even when not hungry have stopped to sample some little morsel in a shop window... Ricks new pet name for me is Fatty. Its a proud moment. I LOVE ITALIAN FOOD:
